My Past Brigade:
January 2019, Ipeti Embera What I gained: It's really difficult to summarize what I gained from this trip in a single paragraph -- I could really talk about it for hours. Going into the trip, I expected somewhat surface-level interactions with clients. This was not the case. My wonderful team and I were able to connect with our clients at a personal level, enabling us to more effectively help their business. Through this connection, we learned so much about the culture in Ipeti Embera. Such a powerful exchange impacted each member on my team, and we were able develop a unique business plan for the hopeful eco-tourism venture. Not only did I gain valuable business experience, but I was able to learn about a beautiful culture far different from my own. |

My Past Brigades:
January 2019, Ipeti Embera What I gained: The brigade was a humbling experience that put my life into perspective. I had not only learned more about real world business techniques and the people, but I had also learned more about myself. We were there with a mission to empower these people to become self-sufficient. The one thing that I regret, if anything, was not being able to have more time to work with them. I strongly recommend for anyone and everyone to be on a brigade, for this experience was one of the best things I have been able to be a part of in my lifetime. The work I’ve put in, the friends I’ve made, and the memories I now have will forever be shared with the brigaders of Texas A&M and the people of Panama. |

My Past Brigades:
January 2019, Ipeti Kuna What I gained: I wasn't sure what to expect when I applied to go on this brigade, and when I was accepted, I was surprised and intimidated. Going on this brigade as a freshmen was intimidating, but I would encourage anyone and everyone who is interested to apply! I gained unparalleled experience, confidence, and immersion into a beautiful culture. No matter your skill set or amount of knowledge, you can find a way to help your team produce a great strategy for your client and make a lasting impact on their lives. This was truly an amazing experience. I hope to see you on the brigade and I can't wait to see how and who I will help this year! |

My Past Brigades:
January 2019, Ipeti Embera May 2017, Panama, Zapallal What I gained: Being on a brigade changed my life. I got to experience something that a lot of people don't get to. I went to Panama to teach people and to my surprise I was the one that learned the most from them. Learning about the lives and culture of the Panamanians was so impressive and heartwarming. It was amazing to see how these people are so appreciative and comfortable with us despite barely knowing us. It is a great feeling to see how much you can change someone's life by giving so little. Besides teaching all these wonderful people you get to work really close with other Aggies and built long lasting friendships! Opportunities like these come once in a life time, so I encourage everyone to apply and get to experience this for themselves! |
